Bigger Pie Forum is opposed to Mississippi's crony capitalism environment among businesses thriving not as a result of risks they take, but rather as a return on money amassed through a nexus between a business class and the political class. BPF seeks to expose these practices providing transparency for Mississippi's citizens.

by BPF Published July 16, 2019 The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development closed its inquiry into the $570 million that was given to the state to rehabilitate and upgrade the Port of Gulfport after Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The HUD decision to end its review means that the state won’t have to pay the money back to the federal government. The problem is how the Mississippi Development Authority, which managed the grant, was able to satisfy the grant requirements.
