The U.S. Justice Department has admitted it seized phone records and e-mails of Associated Press and Fox News reporters.

The First Amendment of the Bill of Rights states:

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

Can we really have a free society without a free press?

In the words of Thomas Jefferson:

“Our liberty depends on the freedom of the press, and that cannot be limited without being lost.”
